This wine is deliberately picked early while the flavours are very pure in the apple, citrus blossom part of the spectrum. Germanic in inspiration but definitely Otago in character this wine possesses all the intensity and finesse of what we have come to expect from this wine grown in a very stony, low-yielding site within the vineyard. Initially the palate is quite sweet with layers of fruit and minerality then the acidity takes over and drives the palate through to a cool, steely finish that just begs for another glass.
When to drink
Drink now through to 2014. The wine will dry out as it ages & expect
mineral & flint to become more pronounced characters as
time goes on.
Food Matching
Try it with the Serrano ham, shaved Parmesan and Cannelini bean
puree at the bistro, you will hopefully find it as interesting and
absorbing as we do.

4 Stars Michael Cooper
The bouquet is complex, minerally and intense; the palate concentrated, with lemon, apple, lime and spice flavours, in a deliciously light and zesty style.

Yvonne Lorkin - Pick of the Bunch
Enticing mineral and honeycomb aromas pave the way to a tangy, green apple and lime-laden mouthfeel. This is what Riesling is all about, that's why I gave it's a capital letter. Crips and sweetly refreshing and I absolutely love it!

4 Stars Cuisine Magazine
From the winery whose restaurant beside Lake Hayes knows how to create a great taste comes this lush, seamless, apricot and apple-infused Riesling. A sweeter style that would sit comfortably beside lightly spiced Asian food.

96 Points Gourmet Traveller Wine
From a very stony, low-yielding site in the Lowburn Terrace area of Central Otago. Thegrapes were selectively picked relatively early in the season and the fermentation was stopped to produce a moderately sweet wine with a low alcohol of only 7.5 per cent. Delicately luscious wine with a great array of ripe stone fruit flavours - predominantly apricot and nectarine. Very succulent but with a beautiful backbone of ripe acidity. An unusual, distinctive and impressive Central Otago wine.
